Dragons running out

Dragons offense takes over for a 4th week in a row; major playmakers like Jeff Hoenstine, Parker Gregg, and Devon Boyles would make sure of it in a 49-13 win over the Red Devils.

The Devils would receive and follow up with a stalled drive that gets punted away down to Central’s 36 yard line. Dragons would have a more successful drive but end without a score by going 3-and-out in Central Cambria territory. With the ball being turned over on downs, one would think that would be a bad thing, well Hunter Smith turned it into a positive and a net gain with a pick-6.

The Devils next drive would end with a score. On a passing play, receiver Nolan Wyrwas would burn DB Josh biesinger on his route and catch a 13 yard pass from Ian Little.

Dragons tight-end Ethan Eicher would be the next man up on the stat sheet, catching a 31 yard pass from Hoenstine to put them up 6 more points.

After a stall and a turnover by Central Cambria, the Dragons would have a back to back score, starting by getting the ball back and having a 60 yard pass to Parker Gregg. Then following that up with a fumble recovery on kick return by Hunter Myers to give Hoenstine another redzone opportunity to throw up to a sure-target: Devon Boyles.

And that was all in the 1st quarter…

While uneventful for the Devils, the Dragons would have another score in the second score is by the familiar name from earlier, Parker Gregg. Parker brings in a 14 yard reception for the score.

Prayers go out to Central Cambria Runningback Hobbs DIll, who suffered a collarbone injury in the first half after 10 carries for 26 yards.

After a fairly routine second quarter for the Dragons, the third quarter went very similarly. The defense dominating and allowing the Dragons offense to score a 1 yard run at the goal line by Hunter Smith.

In the 4th, both offenses had their final scores on the ground. Beginning with a run by Ethan Gillin for 2 yards and 6 points. The last score to effectively end the game would be by speedy runningback Cade Rhule on the 8 yard redzone run.

The one who dominated the game with the help of his o-line, Parker Gregg. Who averaged 19 yards per carry on 5 carries for 95 yards. And also averaged 33 yards per catch one 3 receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns!

Next week: The Central Cambria Red Devils go up against Greater Johnstown and look to remotivate this team after the loss. The Central Dragons go against Penn Cambria to try and keep that offensive momentum as they already have their sights set on the post season.
