At 6-3, 260lb, Declan is an excellent two-way performer on the offensive and defensive lines. If he continues to improve, we believe that he can be an all-state caliber player for us in 2023.

What makes you want to play football?
Being looked up to as a mentor kids want to be like you or play like you.
With this being your final high school football season, have you found yourself preparing any differently?
Yes, I’ve been preparing a lot more with lifting and just going to the field and putting my work in.
At 6-3, 270 pounds, according to what I have read, do you enjoy playing defensive or offensive line?
I think they are the most fun positions in the game, just being able to hit people consistently.
Which side of the ball is the toughest to prepare for? Explain:
Neither, honestly, Coach Baily and Rip always have us prepared for every game.
What are your personal goals for the 2023 season?
Get the LHAC Trophy and D-6.
Who is the best player you have lined up against, along with the team he played for?
I honestly don’t remember who they were, but my Sophomore year against Central Martinsburg, they had two big boys who were all-stat.
Who has been the best team you have played against, along with the things that made them so good?
Southern Columbia, and their team chemistry was amazing.
What will you remember the most from the 2022 season?
When I had a scoop and score for a touchdown.
What will you miss most about the class of 2023?
Their hard work and their willingness to push everyone to do their best
Where should the state finals be held?
Hershey There is a great atmosphere at the big stadium.
What would it mean to you after the season is over to have earned an invite to the Big-33 game or the East vs. West game?
It would be an honor to know that I was one of the best being able to make these games.
What has been your biggest achievement as an athlete, along with your most embarrassing moment?
The achievement would be winning back-to-back D-6 Championships. The most embarrassing would probably be chasing the PC back down, where I tripped on air and ate it.
Who are your favorite and least favorite teams?
Johnstown is probably my favorite to play, and the worst is Westmont, which is basically a Ruby game.
What was the last book you read?
I don’t read.
Where is your dream vacation spot?
Hawaii
