The McCort-Carroll Crushers hosted the Bellefonte Red Raiders in a Laurel Highland Conference matchup at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point in Johnstown, PA.

McCort-Caroll was coming off a huge win against the Westmont Hilltoppers last week improving their record to 2-5 while Bellefonte was still looking for their first win.

McCort-Carroll looking to keep their playoff hopes alive came into the game strong by stopping Bellefonte on their first drive and immediately responding with a huge rushing touchdown by Brock Beppler to put them up early in the game.

Bellefonte punted the ball away again on their next drive to the Crushers and what was looking to be promising field position for the Crushers turned into a fumble, recovered by the Red Raiders setting them up deep in their own territory at the end of the 1st quarter. Bellefonte ended up giving the ball back to the Crushers where they capitalized with a 55-yard reception touchdown thrown by Garrett Farabaugh to Brock Beppler to extend the Crushers to 14-0.

The Crushers dominated the rest of the 1st half adding to their score with a 26 yard rushing touchdown by Jon Delia and after an interception from Bentley Bainey that lead to a field goal by Lucas Conner making the score at half 24-0.

Bellefonte came out of the half strong and but points on the board with a 75 yard passing touchdown thrown by Liam Halterman to Aden Howell. The Red Raiders went for 2 and were successful cutting the lead to 24-8.

The Crushers went on a scoring run of their own by adding another field goal by Lucas Conner and another rushing touchdown from Jon Delia increasing their lead to 33-8.

The Crusher defense went on to hold Bellefonte from scoring with an interception from Shakile Ferguson, until midway through the 4th when Isaac Gall hit Grady Garrison for a touchdown reception to cut the lead 33-14. The Red Raiders went for 2 but were stopped by the Crushers.

Bellefonte did not end up getting another chance to put points on the board as the Crushers ran the remaining time off the clock to end the game.

The McCort-Carroll Crushers add to their win streak by improving to 3-5 with 3 straight wins and looking for a playoff birth for the 1st time in 4 years. The Crushers take on Penn Cambria at home next week and the Bellefonte Red Raiders still looking for their 1st win take on Huntingdon in a away matchup.
