Penn Cambria Beats Bishop Guilfoyle, remains Undefeated (Gallery

Cresson,Pa (9-16-22) Penn Cambria came off a big win last week against a great quarterback and a very good team, Martinsburg Central. This week another Challenge, former Panther Justin Wheeler and his Bishop Guifoyle Marauders. BG continues to show year after year why they have multiple State Championships. Well coached with loads of talent. But the Panthers have faced tough completion before and would not be intimidated. They too are well coached under another former Panther Nick Felus and have loads of talent and defeated BG 39-34.

Penn Cambria got off to a fast start and scored quickly on their first 2 possessions and were up 13-0. The first touchdown was Garret Harrold connecting to Vinny Chirdon. And Zach Grove would pick of  Karson Kiesewetter pass and would take it in for a touchdown. Bishop Guilfoyle are not a team to laydown though and answered back led by Kieswetter, who was spectacular all game, and would go up 14-13.

But the Panthers would keep fight and scrapping in what was a dogfight between 2 great teams. This was any ones all the way to the final minutes where The Marauders were closing in looking for a way to win. With 2 onside kicks in the final minutes Panthers Luke Shaugis did  what he had to do and secured the ball.

After the first onside kick Zach Grove would put the panthers up by 12 with a 42yrd run. But the Marauders would close the gap again and score with plenty of time on the clock that gave the Panther fans hearts racing with another onside kick. Shaugis again would make sure BG didn’t get that chance and secure the ball. With no time outs all the Panthers needed to do was let the clock run down to end the game.

The Panthers Zach Grove once again rushed for over 100 yrds. He had the 15 times for 153 yrds and 4 touchdowns.
