Penn Cambria finds itself in contention for the LHAC title, and look to continue their winning ways as they head into District 6 3A playoffs. McCort-Carroll finds itself in a battle for a spot in District 6 2A playoffs, record wise they’re tied with United Valley, Bellwood-Antis, and Marion Center, and Bald Eagle remains in the hunt at 4-4.

These teams are not strangers to each other, before Bishop Carroll and Bishop McCort merged Penn Cambria had faced Bishop Carroll twelve times from 2004 to 2018 and faced Bishop McCort nine times from 2014 to 2023. When the games are combined there are twenty-one matchups, Penn Cambria has won eleven of the twenty-one matchups, outscoring McCort-Carroll, or McCort & Carroll in this case, 451-373.

For this article it will be kept simple, it is a comparison of average passing yards per game, passing touchdowns per game, average rushing yards per game, average rushing touchdowns per game, receiving touchdowns per game, average tackles per game, average total touch downs scored per game, PAT percentage, and field goal percentage. All of these statistics are based off of the last eight weeks of play.

The statistical leaders in each category is listed below:

On paper at least, it looks like a game that Penn Cambria should dominate, they lead in seven of the nine categories that were looked at, the only two they do not lead in is kicking.

Sports can be a funny thing though, sometimes it looks like a team should steam roll right through a game and it doesn’t turn out this way. Regardless of what the statistics say or how it looks on paper expect this to be a well-played game that should be interesting to watch.
