Playoff Preview Taylor Allderdice @ Hollidaysburg

Taylor Allderdice will make the roughly two hour trip to Hollidaysburg High School Friday to play in a first round of Districts 6-8-9 sub regional bracket. These teams matchup in what will be the third matchup against each other since 2017.
Hollidaysburg finds itself as the one seed hosting a playoff game for the second consecutive year after going 9-1 in the regular season. Hollidaysburg finished the season with four consecutive victories outscoring opponents 163-93, averaging 40.75 points per game, while giving up an average of 23.25 points per game. This is Hollidaysburg second straight playoff appearance at home, in 2023 they hosted and defeated Central Mountain, and their seventh time making the playoffs in eight years.
Taylor Allderdice took a much different path to the playoffs as the finished their season going 1-3 and getting outscored 103-32, giving up an average of 25.7 points per game while only scoring 8 for themselves. Allderdice finished second overall in the Pittsburgh City League, and fell short of a City League Championship losing to Westinghouse. This is their first playoff berth since 2022. They look to regroup and pull off an upset on the road against Hollidaysburg.
These teams have previously faced each other in the 2017 regular season, and week two of this season, Hollidaysburg has won both matchups, outscoring Allderdice 84-6. In 2017 Hollidaysburg won 42-6 against Allderdice and in week two of this season Hollidaysburg traveled to Cupples Stadium in Pittsburgh to defeat Allderdice 42-0.
Hollidaysburg threw for 229 passing yards, and rushed for 123 yards, scoring two rushing touchdowns and four receiving touchdowns. Allderdice did have one positive in the game this year as they did force a fumble and recovered it from Hollidaysburg.
Each team made it to this part of the season by where they stack up compared to other teams in the region, there’s no easy games at this point of the season. Although, on paper, everything seems to be stacked against Allderdice games are not won by the numbers displayed on
