Richland wide receiver Arnold Mugerwa became the second central PA/Small school player to commit to Rutgers in as many days. Earlier this week Warrior Run lineman Jackson Albright committed to the Scarlett Knights.
Richland head coach Brandon Bailey said “We couldn’t be happier for Arnold and his family today. He has left a significant mark on Richland High School, not just with his production on Friday nights, but with his leadership. He treats this team like family, and that’s exactly why he’s going to fit in so perfectly with the culture they are building at Rutgers. The recruiting process can be a ton of weight on a teenager’s shoulders, so I’m incredibly happy for Arnold to have this decision behind him. Now that his future at Rutgers is secure, he can just breathe, have fun, and focus entirely on being a high school senior. He’s completely locked in for a special final season with his teammates at Richland, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish together this year”.

We caught up with Arnold and asked about his commitment.
LET’S GET TO KNOW ARNOLD
Mugerwa caught 54 passes for 1,020 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025. Look for that type of production this year from the speedy, large receiver. On defense his receiver instincts pay dividends as well.
