Friday November 15th the State College Area High School Little Lions took on the Delaware Valley Warriors. State High won large in a 38-7 victory.

Delaware Valley came out with an immediate surprise for State High, that was an onside kick. The Warriors Recovered and began the game in favorable field position. But Delaware Valley was not able to score on the drive. Punting the ball back to State which set them up on the Delaware valley 38. After State High pieced together a series of good plays making it to the 25. At the 25 Brady Dorner completed a short pass to Isaiah Edwards who after trucking about 6 Delaware valley players before he fumbled into the End zone. This once again made a Delaware Valley opportunity despite being on there own 20. Delaware Valley wasn’t able to escape there own 20 before having to punt the ball away. Multiple more punts are exchanged. Until with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter speedy slot receiver Lokey Howell took a speed reverse 34 yards into the End zone with a kick from Spitler it was 7-0 late in the first quarter. On the kick off back to Delaware valley there return man fumbled while trying to catch the kick State High made it down the field and picked up the fumble on the Delaware Valley 10. State High ran a quick pass into the end zone where Isaiah would have been if his Corner hadn’t have interfered with the Pass Interference call state was now on the 5. On third down when it looked as though Brady Dorner may be sacked he floated a ball out to Dresyn green on a bubble. With that catch Dre was able to walk straight into the end zone and with the PAT it was now 14-0 with 3:23 remaining in the first quarter. Long drives and punts on the exchanged till the second quarter.

In the Second quarter Delaware Valley was punting out of there own end zone, where one of the players tipped the punt on the way past. Safety Carson Frank’s would snatch it out of the air. This began the drive on the Delaware Valley 20. After a drive that was well pieced together Dresyn Green took an inside handoff scoring a 5 yard rushing touchdown, with a kick from Spitler it was 21-0 with 7 minutes remaining in the half. After Delaware valley got the ball back and began there drive on the first play Lokey Howell steppes into a route letting him intercept a ball that could have just as easily been a touch down the other way. After this one play interception, Lokey got a one play Touchdown as Brady connected with him for a 40 yard dagger. 28-0 State is up after the PAT with 6:25 remaining in the Half. Delaware Valley on there own 30 then Fumbles the ball to Kevin Kurzinger, setting State on the 29 ready to score once again. Which is exactly what they did, after multiple plays Isaiah was set up with a 7 yard Touchdown dive, with the PAT it was 35-0 State was rolling with 4:26 remains in the first half. After another interception State High was set up on the Delaware Valley 25 with minutes remaining in half. They would get to 25 seconds remaining in the half before Aiden Spitler kicked a 30 yard FG making it 38-0.

After Halftime JV and some rotational players got the game Delaware Valley was able to score with 2:41 remaining in the Third. The Score was now 38-7 State high remained up the rest of the game.

Lots of history was made last night as the Current Seniors became the winningest class of all time at State High having now 33 wins. Additionally Sophomore stud Linebacker Ryan Domico notched his 100th tackle this season, coming into the game just 2 short. When I asked him about it all he had to say was “I did it” and smiled.

Looking at next week State Hugh will be taking on the Winner of Pine-Richland VS. Central Catholic. No matter who it is this State Hugh team is excited and ready to keep playing.
