Even when you’re good ,you’re still a long way from the best. The Frazier Commodores had a career year in 2021, despite starting QB BRAYDEN BOGGS going down in Week 2. Frazier stayed alive and had a shot to make the playoffs, however, Washington showed who they were and smoked the Dores on the road. Greg Boggs now has to reload a team that was heavy with attrition and graduation, along with deciding who will be under center next year.
When Boggs went down in Week 2, DOMINICK DORCON stepped in admirably, however there was still a drop off. Expect BOGGS to return to the QB position with DORCON moving to WR. Frazier is replacing all but one of their offensive linemen, which can’t be reassuring for a quarterback coming off of multiple knee surgeries. The biggest question will be replacing Kenny Fine at RB. DOMENIC TARANTO and ADAM PHILLIPS are leading candidates.
Frazier will be losing their most talented defender in Ian Baccino on the line next year, and will have to replace most linemen. There’s experience back at LB with PANEPINTO and BACCINO which will certainly help.
This will be an interesting year for the Commodores. On the one hand, it will be the senior year of career starters like BRAYDEN BOGGS, ISAAC THOMAS, and NICOLAS VITALE, however there are still glaring gaps in talent across the lineup, especially in the Trenches. If Frazier can find an answer and have pushback against teams like Charleroi and Chartiers Houston, Frazier will be right in the mix. The Commodores have a brutal opening stretch of games, two of which will be against 2A Playoff teams on the road in Brentwood and Ligonier Valley. If Frazier shows promise and maintains health through that stretch it will be a benefit to games further down the line. A road matchup finale against Charleroi may decide the Commodores playoff hopes.
