Let’s get to know a little more about Mikey:

Why do you play football ?
I like the adrenaline.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Baker Mayfield, he’s proved everyone wrong at almost every step of his career.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
I remember my first pass as a Junior, was a 60 yard post to Wink in the home opener vs Penn Trafford. They were the state champs the previous year so it gave us the confidence to throw deep this year.

What was last year’s season like for you ?
It was a fun season, we had a lot of ups and downs. We didn’t finish where we wanted to but we all saw our potential. I loved the guys on last year’s team and we all started to believe that a WPIAL Championship is a legitimate goal in the future.

Who is the best player you have ever lined up against ?
There’s studs on every team on our schedule. Vern Settles and Xavier Thomas at Central Catholic, Nate Deanes of South Fayette, Besselman of USC, I could name a dozen more. We have a really tough schedule and playing against the level of talent in our league is exciting.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
Penn State

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
2017 Steelers, I loved the killer bees. They seemed to have a tight unit.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
The second half of this year’s game against Peters Township. I got injured right before halftime and had to sit out the second half. We were tied at halftime and I sat back and watched my teammates win the game.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
American Underdog, Kurt Warner’s story is inspiring and I love the underdog role. We have traditionally been considered the underdogs.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Make a tackle, anything is possible in the game of football.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Hockey, it’s a lot harder on actual ice than in my driveway.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
My Sophomore year we played at Bethel Park and I forgot my jersey. The assistant coaches were trying to hide that fact from my dad(he’s our head coach) because they didn’t think he would let me play.

Tell us something about playing for Canon-McMillan that stands out, that others may not know ?
That every game is a battle. How genuine this program is because of the players and coaches. We have a lot of support from the community and are a very tight knit team. Whether we are playing football, paintball, dodgeball or bowling, we always have a good time with each other. Many of us don’t leave the facility for hours after practice because we just like hanging out with each other.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Hanging out with the team. We started getting into fishing this summer.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Sheetz, because I live a mile away from two of them.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
My favorite destination is the end zone. I haven’t been on a real vacation since I started playing high school football.

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
The ocean, we only know about 5% of it. It always feels like I’m trespassing in someone else’s territory.

NCAAF, because they’re all hungry.

I actually don’t play video games.

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
Lamborghini to Vegas!

Become a millionaire!
