Carmen is all over the field. Seems to have a nose for the ball. His receiver skills help him excel defensively with the ability to out time the defender for the jump ball. He can also land a blow to stop the ball carrier. He’s also a pretty good fisherman. Read about that below.
Head Coach Ruane says “Carm Metcalfe is an outstanding athlete. Tremendous instincts, has speed and excels as a safety coming off the hash. Runs good routes and often makes plays in traffic. Physical kid who loves to compete and makes everyone around him better”.

Why do you play football?
Football is similar to my life, and teaches me how to bounce back and deal with adversity. It helps me battle through tough situations and makes me mentally tough.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Bo Jackson, because he is a multi sport athlete like myself.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My first varsity interception. I read the play as a pass, dropped to my zone, and caught the ball.
What was last years season like for you?
I loved last year’s season, it felt great to make plays on Friday nights each week,
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goals are to lead the team to the playoffs, but my personal goal is to make All Conference.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Ryan Palmeri, he was a tough opponent since he ran very hard and downhill.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
I would love to visit Navy, it has been a dream school of mine.
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Pittsburgh Steelers
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
The 2022 Backyard Brawl at Hienz Field, because the teams were super competitive and Pitt got the win.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Rudy, because it shows how hard work and dedication can help you accomplish anything.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
“Keep your head in the game, focus”
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
I want to kick a field goal in a varsity game.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Cade Yacamelli, because he showed me what true grit was while also caring for others. He was a selfless leader and worked harder than anyone else.

Lacrosse
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
Trying to bunt in baseball and then breaking my finger.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My girlfriend, because she always supports me and lifts me up when I need it.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Fishing with my friends because it is calming and a good time to bond together.

My biggest fish I’ve ever caught was a Nurse Shark
Favorite bait/lure:
My favorite bait to use is live bait, I’m not a fan of lures.
Who taught you how to fish?
For as long as I can remember, my mom has always went fishing with me so she taught me everything.
What is your favorite football memory to date?
Winning the state championship my sophomore year.
What is your favorite play to run?
JAP(Trick play)
What scares you the most?
Snakes

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?
When I got catchers gear for my 12th birthday, I was so excited to finally have my own gear.

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
I remember watching the Steelers play with my Dad on TV, I don’t remember the exact game but I remember falling in love with the game.
