Coach Giori says “Breydon is returning for his senior season at running back 1451 yards shy of the school record for rushing yards. He has been the focal point of the offense his entire career. He has a running style that blends tough running not afraid to lower his shoulder and carry a pile, quick footwork and then speed when the opportunity presents itself. He was elected as captain of the team for a second straight year. His leadership is something that is seen the moment he walks on the field on Friday night. He leads by doing and pushing himself to keep playing both sides of the while being asked to carry the ball more often than not and then come down from the safety position to make tackles. His rushing average per game over his career is 104 yards with 18 tds. Consistent production. At the end of the 2021 season he was name the Wpial Century Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Not only is he successful on the field but in classroom as well. He has a 3.98 gpa and plans to study (chemical I believe) engineering. It would be a shame if colleges missed out on a great football player but even more of a tremendous person that they would be lucky to have in their locker room”.

LET’S GET TO KNOW BREYDON

Why do you play football?

It gives me motivation to work for something. All the hard work I put in is all for my team and community. It allows me to feel like I have a purpose and reason to keep getting better.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

The pre-game with my team and the adrenaline before the first snap.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Gervonta Davis. The confidence he brings is the reason I like him. Confidence is always key in sports and I always strive to have confidence and believe I have put it all out there when the job is done.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My favorite play was the opening kickoff against Wash High. We knew it was going to be a challenging game and I was able to receive the opening kick and take it all the way for the touchdown to start the game.

What was last years season like for you?

Not great. I was out for many games due to concussions and internal bleeding. After I had internal bleeding, I was not able to fully recover until much later (Around mid track season). We also did not have out starting QB also due to injury for the entire season.

What are your goals for this coming season?

My main goal is to break the school record for rushing yards in a single season as well as make it to the playoffs.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Davoun Fuse. He is very hard to bring down and he just makes so many plays. He could really make a play out of nothing. He was really a danger at all times.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I would love to visit WVU and be on the sidelines. They have been my favorite team since I knew what football was and that is also the college I want to attend in the future.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Denver Broncos.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Alabama vs Tennesee last year. The game was exhilarating all the way through and the post game was insane. It’s something I wish I could be apart of.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

Usually something simple like “Go Breydon!”. They really scream the entire game every game.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

I would love to get a game winning, walk-off pic 6.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My dad. I think he is very hard-working and level headed. He is a good role model and a good person all around.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

MMA

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

Dropping a wide open touchdown in middle school. It simply just went straight through my hands even though I was wide open.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My brother. We don’t really say it a lot but it really is great seeing a sibling succeed in whatever they are doing and I would say he is the same way.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Playing video games. I just like to relax and talk to my friends and other people while doing something not physically demanding.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

The whole 21-22 Homecoming Game.

What is your favorite play to run?

A zone read. It allows me to be able to see something and make a play.

What scares you the most?

Not having purpose.

Music of choice:

Rap and Rap/Hip-Hop.

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

Buffalo Wild Wings on a Thursday night

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Ocean City.

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?

My cousins game in Summerville West Virginia.
