LET’S GET TO KNOW CAMERON
Do you read football news?
Yes
This will be your final high school football season. Are you training or preparing differently than you have in the past?
I’ve been working more this year on agility and footwork in addition to my usual strength training.
Other than your home stadium, which stadium has been your favorite to have played in?
I really enjoyed playing at Highlands this year because it was a rivalry game. I’m looking forward to playing at the Wolverena this year in our last game!
What is the toughest part of a Kiski Area practice?
Running gassers before and after practice!
How did you get into long snapping, and how long have you been doing it?
I actually started snapping in youth football when I played for KVL. They needed a snapper, and I was the only one that could do it. I was 10 years old. I got serious about it my freshman year, got formal training, and started doing the camps.
Twitter and Hudl seem to be two tools college coaches use to keep up with potential recruits. How often do you update your pages?
I usually try to do Hudl films for the first 3 games, midseason, and end of season. I do both snapping and OL highlights. I try to check and update Twitter a few times a week.
Who has been the best player that you have lined up against in a game, along with the team he played for?
Definitely Ryan Cory from Pine Richland. We had a good battle, and I wish him the best at Wisconsin.
What do you believe is the strongest part of your game?
Being physical on the line of scrimmage and finishing blocks.
If you have gone to any camps, would you share some of them with the readers and let us know the biggest lessons that you have learned?
I have gone to many camps for both snapping and lineman camps. I’ve gone to some big schools and smaller ones. My advice is to go to camps where you would be interested in going to that school, and don’t be afraid to go up and talk to coaches.
After the season is over, how important is it to you to have earned an invitation to at least one of them?
It is very important to me. It is good when your hard work is noticed.
Why should a college coach recruit you?
I have good character and a good work ethic, and I plan to be loyal to the program I commit to.
If you are hearing from any college coaches, could you share some of them with PAFOOTBALLNEWS NATION?
I have been in communication with coaches from every division level. All of them have great programs and schools.
Where is the best mom-and-pop spot to grab a good meal?
I love the pizza at Ianni’s Pizza in Vandergrift.
What is your favorite class or subject?
I enjoyed AP European History.
If you drink energy drinks, which one is your favorite?
I’m not big into energy drinks, but if I do, I like Ghost Blue Raspberry.
