From The Coach” Undersized lineman who plays with tremendous effort and technique. First team All Conference as a junior. Highly praised from NFL coaches at prestigious Joe Moore camp. Fits the reputation of linemen who play in the flexbone offense. Very good tackler on defense. Wrestles and plays tennis as well.”

How long have you played football, and why do you continue to play?

I have played football for 7 years. I continue to play because of the joy playing the game brings me and the brotherhood I have made with my teammates.

Football or wrestling, which one is the toughest to prepare for?

Mentally football is tougher to prepare for. Learning the scout for the week and the defenses we want to run is challenging, but physically it’s definitely wrestling. Nothing is harder than trying to get your body into “wrestling shape”.

Football or wrestling—which one do you feel you are better at?

I would say I’m better at football. It’s kind of a toss up though depending on the day either could be my better sport.

Hudl and Twitter seem to play a big part in college coaches being able to keep up with recruits. How often do you update each page?

I update each outlet fairly often. I like to make sure my stats are always up to date.

What has been your biggest moment as an athlete, in any sport, at any age?

My biggest moment was my sophomore year when we came back from a 18 point deficit to beat our rivals 43-24 on their field.

What has been your most embarrassing moment as an athlete?

The most embarrassing thing that sticks out to me is my Junior year I made it to the finals of the Tricada tournament and had to wrestle a kid from Fort Cherry and I got pinned in 57 seconds.

If things are tense at practice and things are not going as well as they should, which teammate is most likely to do something funny to loosen things up?

Memphis Hadrych. Memphis is our starting D- tackle. My nickname for him is “Big M”. Memphis is always there to give you a good laugh whenever you need it. He always has a light hearted story that will leave you cracking up.

What is the best part of having that awsome gray turf?
The gray turf is our new trade mark. If you ever mention the gray turf everyone on the WPIAL knows exactly where you are talking about. We say all the time that we adopted gray as the fourth color in our school. A lot of people didn’t like the idea at first, but once you see it for the first time you love it.

How much of an adjustment is it to get used to having all of the fans set on the same side?

I really didn’t know any different. All the small schools that I’m used to all sit on the same side. It was actually weird to me the first time I played in a stadium that fans on both sides.

How difficult is it to compete in four sports, along with keeping up with your class work?

I’ve always been used to balancing both school and sports. Last year I loaded down with a bunch of AP classes and it was a little bit more difficult because I had extra homework than normal. If you set aside time each day to get your work done it’s not as hard as it may seem.

Who is the best player that you have ever played with?

The best player that I’ve ever played with in my opinion is Connor Crowe. Connor played Qb and outside linebacker for us last year. He was one of the toughest kids I know and had a great football IQ. Being in a wing-t offense the Qb doesn’t do a lot of running, and there was a lot of times Connor would make plays that no one in the stadium thought he could make.

How important, if at all, is it for you to get an invite to play in one of the all-star games after the season is over?

I would love to play in the All- Star game but it’s not my number one goal. I want to play to the best of my ability for my team during the season and do the most for my team as possible. I would like to think that my level would get me to the game.

Where do you go when you want a good meal?

My go to place to go is Texas Roadhouse. My usual is the 6oz steak (medium rare) and shrimp combo.

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

I live on an almost 200 acre farm, so when I’m not active in a sport I’m normally there taking care of something.

What is the best sport to watch on TV?

I am a huge Penn State fan so if I’m not at the game I love to watch Saturday Penn State football.
