From the coach “Tony is a kid who everyone wants in their program. He is a leader vocally and by his work ethic. He is the kid who stays at Junior High lifts to motivate the future while they work. Tony is the first there and last to leave. He is a huge part of our program off the field while playing a pivotal role on the field as well. Tony was a first team all conference selection last season on the OL.”
LET’S GET TO KNOW TONY
What makes being a student-athlete at Neshannock High School so special?
The best part about Neshannock is that I get to learn in the classroom and on the football field at a very high level.
What is the toughest part of a Neshannock practice?
Probably the conditioning, but I know this will prepare us and get us in shape for the season.
Which teammate is most likely to do something funny to break the tension when things are dragging in practice?
I think our quarterback, Jino Mozzocio.
What was the best part of the 2023 season?
My favorite part of the season would be when we beat our rival, Mohawk, for the section championship.
Which side of the line do you prefer to play on?
I prefer to play offensive line because of my aggression in the run game, and I am also a good pass blocker.
Which side of the line is the toughest to play on?
Defensive line, I think I need to improve as a defensive lineman.
What is your game-day routine?
First, I wake up and get ready to go to school. After school, I come home and eat a good meal, then I stretch. Finally, I leave and meet my teammates in the locker room before game time.
What is your coach screaming when someone makes a mistake in a game?
“Get the next one” , Coach Bongivengo thinks if we make a mistake on a play, we need to move onto the next one.
How do you shake off a bad game?
I regroup my thoughts and come back even stronger for the next game.
What are your personal goals for the 2024 season?
As a team, I want to win the WPIAL and State Championship. My main personal goal is to become First Team All-State for both sides of the ball.
After the season is over, will you play in any of the all-star games if you have earned an invite?
I will most likely play in an all-star game after the season if I am blessed with the opportunity to.
What is your favorite type of music?
I like to listen to Hip-Hop and Rap, it gets me locked in on game day.
What toppings go on your burger?
I like some cheese, lettuce, and ketchup on my burgers.
Where is the best local spot to grab a bite?
I like Bill’s Sandwich Shop, they got some good gyros
