Coach says: “Brayden had a great sophomore season. Voted Defensive MVP, was a dynamic player on both sides, but destructive on defense. Good looking 6-2 frame and athleticism to go along with a very reputable wrestling background. FBS programs are showing strong interest and may be offered by the end of June. With 2 years to play, the sky is the limit if he continues to grow and develop.”
Let’s get to know Brayden!
How long have you been playing football?
I’ve been playing football since 3rd grade which is 8 years
Why do you play football?
There are many reasons why I enjoy playing football. I love watching and analyzing the game. My father and uncle played collegiate football and my younger brother played in our local youth league prior to me starting.
What was the 2024 season like for you?
Coming into the season, I wasn’t a starter. We faced some major injuries so when the time was presented, I rose to the occasion and everything fell into place. The season didn’t end as the team planned but we will come back stronger this year!
What are your goals for 2025?
Individually, I would like to be selected 1st Team All Conference and continue on my projected pace to break the school All Time Tackle Record. My team goal is for us to win WPIAL and continue to the State Championship.
What do you think is the best aspect of your game?
The best aspect of my game is tackling because of experience with wrestling. My lateral speed is also another key attribute that I admire.
What is your favorite football memory?
My favorite football memory is when we won in overtime against Mt. Lebanon. We were down by 8 with 2 minutes … our defense held strong, my teammate ended the game with a game winning interception in overtime.
What does leadership mean to you?
Leadership means someone who picks up and pushes teammates. Leaders are selfless and do more than anyone else. They take control of situations and do what is best for the team.
What is the best part about playing for Canon-Mac?
My teammates are the best part. i have players with them my entire career. Also playing on a team with my younger brother is an additional bonus.
Who was the best player you have ever played against?
Jimmy Kalis from Central Catholic – because he given me the best match up and forced me to bring out the best me on the football player
Which current or former teammate has had the most impact on you as a player and person?
Kaeden Singelton is my former teammate from my freshman year and is currently at Delaware fighting for the D End starting spot. He is my neighbor and I have been friends with him for a long time.
Who is your biggest fan?
My mom – she has been there since day 1 and you can always hear her in the stands! She’s my biggest supporter and always pushes me.
What are your hobbies outside of football?
I am on the Canon McMillan Varsity Wrestling team. I also enjoy fishing and hanging out with friends.
What is your favorite and least favorite practice drill to run?
My favorite practice drill is 7v7 because it high energy and high intensity. My least favorite drill is the 300 yard conditioning sprints because we never just do 1.
What is your favorite musical artist to listen to before games?
Before games I listen to Daniel Caesar because it helps calm me down and gets me in the right mindset for games.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Ocean City, Md is one of my favorite vacation spots because it is fun and it’s never a dull moment.
What is your favorite pregame meal?
My favorite pregame meal is beef, rice, and a gogurt … has to be the stick version not a cup!
