Season Outlook |
The Big Macs look to improve on a disappointing 2024 season that saw them lose three one-score games (South Fayette, Hempfield, Seneca Valley) during an injury-riddled campaign. The black cloud of injury in 2024 did have a silver lining, in that it forced mulitple young players into varsity action. Canon-Mac expects the growing pains they experienced in 2024 to pay dividends in 2025. A majority of their offensive and defensive starters return in 2025. The Big Macs also have more depth than they have had in quite some time Offensively, QB Ty Jansma leads an experienced group returning skill players. This group includes TE, T.J. Sabatucci (Buffalo commit),RB Troy Stimpson, and WRs Ethan Campoli, Braelon Wingfield and Roman Cimarolli. Up front, Left Tackle, Ben Gottschalk has multiple scholarship offers. Elsewhere on the O-Line, there will be great competition for jobs. On Defense, there is a lot of optimism in Canonsburg, due to experience returning at all three levels of the defense. Sabatucci (End) leads the D-Line. At LB, Brayden Collins (Eastern Michigan offer) leads a deep and talented crew, that includes his brother, Bryce, Logan Logsdon and Ryan Blinn. In the secondary, 4-year starter, Marco Faieta returns and is joined by Campoli, Cimarolli and Wingfield. All this experience has the Big Macs primed to make a move in 6A. The Big Macs will have no problem with motivation. They will be playing for Head Coach, Mike Evans, who is on medical leave for the season. Coach Evans is truly the heart of this team. Longtime opponent and friend, Brian DeLallo, will step in to guide the Big Macs this fall. |
