Coach says: From a kid who never had played football until his freshman year to a senior who is fielding college interest from various levels, Lucas embodies what high school football is all about. He is a leader on the field and in the classroom. He embraced the culture we were creating and fell in love with the game. He is smart and coachable which can be seen in the improvements he’s made each year. He is the model teammate. He helps younger players while providing them with a role model and example that I wish every young man would follow.”
Let’s get to know Lucas:
How long have you been playing football?
This is my fourth year playing football.
Why did you start playing football?
I started playing football because I was big and everyone told me I should play. So, I gave it a shot and ended up loving the game.
If you did not play football what is another fall sport you would play?
Golf
What is your favorite pre-game song?
Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Do you have a pre-game routine and if so, what?
Not really a routine. I will usually just listen to music, eat a granola bar or something and then drink an energy drink like 30 minutes before going out.
What are you looking forward to most this upcoming season?
Just getting better and proving myself.
What are you going to miss most about the class of 2025?
I am going to miss all the leaders we had. The class of 2025 was an amazing group, and I have looked up to them ever since I was a freshman. Losing them will be hard.
Who or what is your biggest motivation?
I do not really know if I have a motivation. I would say, if anything, it is to play college football, so my parents do not have to worry about paying for my college.
What is your favorite play from your high school career so far?
It is kind of hard to have a favorite play as an offensive lineman, but the one that comes to mind is when we lined up in punt formation, and I snapped it to Alex Tatsch for a fake punt that ended in a touchdown.
What is your favorite school subject?
My favorite school subject is probably math.
What is your favorite sports movie?
My favorite sports movie is probably “Greater”.
What is your favorite professional sports team?
The Pittsburgh Steelers.
What do you do for fun when not playing football?
I like to fish, golf and play video games.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Probably somewhere warm like Florida or something.
What is your favorite dessert?
My favorite dessert is strawberry pretzel salad.
Where is your dream vacation?
Dream vacation would probably Italy.
What is your favorite part of being a Greater Latrobe student?
My favorite part of being a Greater Latrobe student is the teachers. All of the teachers are great people, and you can connect with them very easily.
