Let’s get to know Jerry:

How long have you been playing football?

I have been playing football for six years, since sixth grade.

Why did you start playing football?

I always wanted to play football. I simply love the game. My parents made me wait until I was a little bit older.

Do you have a team goal this year and if so, what?

That is simple, a WPIAL Championship!

Who or what is your biggest motivation and why?

I am a competitor. I love to set goals and go after them. I love to prove people wrong and silence the doubters.

What is a favorite moment with the team or play you remember from your high school career?

I scored a kick return against Jeanette during the regular season last year that changed the momentum of the game and catapulted us to a win.

What are you going to miss the most about the class of 2025?

I became great friends with Johah Schneider in both football and track. His presence will be missed.

How do you think your role and leadership on the team has changed now that you are going to be a senior?

I have always led by example. Nobody outworks me. I want to be a more vocal leader for the team and be there for my teammates on and off the field when the need me.

What do you love about playing football for Greensburg Central Catholic?

The chemistry of our team is outstanding. I can not wait to play my heart out for my guys because I know they will do the same for me. We are a tight team.

Do you have any advice for underclassman?

I think it is important for underclassmen to prepare each day like they are a starter. I think that it is important to always practice like it is a game. This way, when their number is called upon, they are prepared and ready to step in whatever position and perform for the team.

What is your favorite pre-game song?

I listen to music to keep me calm before a game. I am a pretty intense competitor, so I need to balance my pregame and my in-game mindset.

What is your pre-game routine?

I eat a chipotle steak and rice bowl, listen to music, go out on the field first before everyone else, work on my kicking, and then get my mind right to dominate.

Do you have any pregame superstitions and if so, what?

I am not really that superstitious. I am confident in my abilities to perform well.

What benefit do you think running track has on your football game?

Running track is key to my game. It helps with my speed and burst on the football field. Most importantly, running the 400m helps me to mentally be the toughest person on the field. It is a tough event, and I proved this year that I am the toughest by earning a State Championship in the event.

What do you do for fun when not playing football?

I like to work out and train, go paddle boarding, play video games and hang out with my friends.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you visit?

I think New Zealand would be tremendous.

What is your favorite subject in school?

I loved Anatomy class my junior year.

What is your dream job (besides a professional football player)?

To run track professionally and be an Olympian.

If you could have any person (living or not) come to one of your games, who would it be and why?

All of my grandparents. Only my one grandmother on my dad’s side has had the opportunity to see me play football, and she doesn’t miss a game! All of my other one’s have passed away.

What is your favorite stadium you have ever played at and, why?

I like Ligonier Valley a lot. The mountains in the background are beautiful. It is just a nice setting.

Do you have any pets and if so, what?

I have two pet dogs. Tyrone my French Bulldog and Skylar my Golden/Collie mix.

What is your favorite part of being a Greensburg Central Catholic student?

GCC is a smaller school where you build close relationships with your teachers, coaches and students.
