Coach says: “Max is an All-Conference Tight End and 2 year starter. He is a leader with his play and has made impacts both as a tight end and linebacker.”

Let’s get to know Max:

How long have you been playing football?

Since seventh grade so five years now.

Why did you start playing football?

I wanted to be apart of the team and try out.

Do you have a personal goal this year and if so, what?

My goal is to be better than I was last year, better than the last game and better than the last practice.

Who or what is your biggest motivation and why?

I think my motivation comes from my team, my friends and my coaches to just improve and get better so we can have a better senior season.

What is a favorite moment with the team or play you remember from your high school career?

My favorite moments are definitely between downs, celebrating the play with teammates and getting ready for the next one.

What are you going to miss the most about the class of 2025?

Our class of 25 had really good team chemistry that was natural with their years of playing together since rec, and I think that’s what I will miss the most.

How do you think your role and leadership on the team has changed now that you are going to be a senior?

Other than the added responsibilities on the field being a senior means being a role model for the younger guys coming up and I am still trying to learn to be a good one for them.

What do you love about playing football for Greensburg-Salem?

Best part about playing for the Golden lions has got to be the team itself, we have a great weight room and field but the team is unique to Greensburg, really nowhere else I would rather play.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Best piece of advice I have gotten is from my track coach, Coach Lehman; if your going to do something, do it right, absolutely no point in spending time to do something if it is going to be half baked, when it could have been done right, and I could have learned or grown from it.

What is your pre-game routine?

Pregame is always different for me but generally consists of blasting Twenty one pilots in my head phones and just visualizing the game, knowing what I have to do and what to expect from the other team.

If you could have any person (living or not) watch, you play football who would it be and why?

Always love my parents and family showing up for my games, good to know that I carry on generations of GS with them.

You had 61 total tackles across 11 games last season; what do you think makes you so good at making tackles?

I messed up a lot and missed tackles over my 11 games last season, but the ones I made were made when I was confident in my play and knew to just to do my job.

What do you do for fun when not playing football?

If I am not playing football I am at the track practicing or in the gym trying to improve myself, found a love in sports and it is what keeps me so passionate.

What impact (positive or negative) do you think playing track has on your football career?

I think track has really opened me up to being competitive against myself, it is a pretty individual sport so only mark of improvement is beating what you ran last time.

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal is a good plate of chicken afredo.

What is your dream job (besides a professional football player)?

Dream job right now is to be a project manager.

What is your favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject is school is lunch.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

I would like to move down to North Carolina, the weather is nice, but still close enough to home.

Do you have any game day superstitions and if so, what?

Big superstition I have to not speak anything bad, try not to think about dropping a pass or missing a tackle, and if I do, not dwell on it.

If you could play at any sports stadium, what stadium would it be?

I think it would be a gray opportunity to play in Acrisure stadium in Pittsburgh.

Do you have any pets and if so, what?

I have one dog named Aspen.

What is your favorite part of being a Greensburg-Salem student?

Best part about being a Greensburg-Salem student is the student body, everyone knows everyone else and there are not many cliques, lotta interaction between friend groups no barriers or walls between people.
