LET’S GET TO KNOW CORBIN:
Why do you play football?
I play football because I just love the game. It pushes me to my limits and it’s also a place to escape when things don’t go well. It also sets a goal for me on what I want to accomplish in life and to see how far I’m willing to push myself.
What was the 2024 season like for you?
The 2024 season had a mix of emotions but was something to look forward too. People may look at our record and think it was just another normal season but almost every game came down to the last couple minutes. Last season was something to build off of and move forward and work even harder.
What are your goals for 2025?
For the 2025 season, my goals are to have a winning season with the team and also win a playoff game which hasn’t happened since 2013.
What do you think is the best aspect of your game?
I feel like my biggest aspect is my mentality and knowledge. I know I will be the hardest working person in the room and on the field I am always aware and I know what’s going on.
How have you approached this offseason differently than previous offseasons?
So far it’s been a nonstop grind. Last season I started to get a feel on what real hard work was and now I’m going full force to where I want to go.
What does leadership mean to you?
Leadership means a lot to me. I feel like leadership can be a huge role but once you become a real leader it can take you a long way.
What is the best part about playing for Yough High School?
I feel like the best thing about playing at Yough is how our team plays together. We don’t have many kids so we kind of rely on each other and make each other better every day.
What does it mean to you to be a four year starter for Yough High School?
It means a lot to me. Not a lot of kids do it. I think it helped me switch my mindset right away.
Who was the best player you have ever played against?
The best player I’ve played against would probably be Christopher Climes from Elizabeth Forward. He’s just a big kid who was fast on his feet.
Who has had the most impact on you as a player and person?
I want to say my dad or my old basketball coach Jim Nesser. My dad is always there for me and Mr. Nesser taught me how to push past my limits and see how far I could push myself.
Who is your biggest fan?
I want to say either my Dad or my head Coach Benny Hoffer. They both support me and get my name out there as much as they can.
What are your hobbies outside of football?
I love to workout and cook. I love trying new recipes and things to try.
What is your favorite and least favorite practice drill to run?
My favorite drill is definitely Oklahoma’s and my least favorite drill is our triangle drill. It’s where you you have 3 different layers of people you have to get through to get to the pad and tackle it. It’s definitely a fun and hard drill but it’s very exhausting.
What is your favorite artist or band?
I want to say either Tyler, the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, or Mf Doom.
What is your favorite pregame ritual?
I like to sit in silence or listen to music and think about making big plays or putting myself in situations and go over the other teams schemes and little things that I can point out.
