Why do you play football?
I’ve had the desire to play and play for a long time ever since I was a kid.
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
Making plays, having fun, and enjoying the game with my guys.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Cooper DeJean, I feel like I can relate to him and his play in a number of ways.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Against State College in the PIAA quarter finals game, they threw a quick under route into the flat. I chased it from an inside pursuit while my safety over top held the outside fit. I ran up to the ball carrier and punched for the ball to set it free but ended up just taking it right from his hands. To this day that was the best play I’ve ever made in my career.
What was last years season like for you?
Definitely a reality check on where I am with my ability to play football, and what I need to do to improve my game to make it into the next level.
What are your goals for this coming season?
I would love another WPIAL ring and another chance to fight for a state championship.

Owen Johnson-LaSalle College High School

Mike Macdonald
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
The LA Rams stadium
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Steelers
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Pro because I got to see everywhere on the field the best of the best at the sport
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Remember the Titans just because it’s a touching story and sort of inspirational
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
“That’s it!!”
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Play D1 ball
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My dad, because the attitude he carried when he played the game of football is so far from mine, but I want to be more like him in that aspect
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Pickleball, I’m nasty at pickleball but I would never have time
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
Completely letting go of Pine Richlands quarterback when I wouldn’t have him sacked 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage. I still somehow ended up making the tackle far downfield after he got away
If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A big SUV like a Yukon or something
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Pickleball, it’s so much fun and when I’m with my guys it’s even better
What is your favorite football memory to date?
My last middle school game I completely balled out, and it’s my favorite memory because now that I’m not longer going to that school district, that was my last time I was with my closest friends at that school.
What is your favorite play to run?
A blitz for me, even though I haven’t landed in on one yet
What scares you the most?
Failure
What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?
Thanksgiving, 3 plates.
What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
The Carriage Inn in Elizabeth
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Outer Banks, North Carolina
Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
No but in my earliest memories of games I remember the Immaculate Extension
