The second round of the WPIAL playoffs concluded at Pat Tarquinio stadium with the Beaver Bobcats falling to the Avonworth Antelopes 42-21.

The Antelopes got off to a hot start as Nico Neal scored his first touchdown of the game as Avonworth took an early 7-0 lead. After a Beaver punt, Luca Neal would get into the endzone again to put the Lopes up 14-0.

The Bobcats would fumble on the kickoff and Avonworth scored off the turnover and Luca Neal would find Jackson Curl for a touchdown making the score 21-0.

Avonworth forced Beaver into a quick three and out and Nico Neal would find the endzone for the second time putting Avonworth up        27-0.  With 4:48 left to go until halftime, Nico Neal found the endzone once again for the Antelopes making the score 35-0.

Beaver had a drive going until Travis Clear threw an interception to Billy Onyshko ending the half. Beaver got the ball to start the second half and Travis Clear hit Amari Jackson in double coverage for a touchdown cutting the deficit to 35-7.

Avonworth would answer back as Nico Neal scored his fourth touchdown of the game putting the Antelopes up 42-7.

Bobcats running back Qualan Cain would score Beaver’s second touchdown of the game cutting the deficit to four scores as Avonworth still lead 42-14.

Beaver would force a three and out of their own and Travis Clear found Phillip Marino Jr for the Bobcats third touchdown of the game.

The Bobcats forced Avonworth to punt again and drove down to the Avonworth two-yard line. Beaver went for it on fourth down and five and failed to convert.

The Bobcats had one more opportunity to score and were driving down the field as Travis Clear hit Amari Jackson and Brady Mayo for huge gains. Unfortunately, Clear got sacked on third and fourth down ending the game and Bobcats season.

Avonworth advances to the semi-final round and will face the number one seeded Imani Christian Academy next week with a time and location to be announced.
