Built as a match up of previously unbeatens, with the rivalry renewed after a three year layoff, and the battle for the Little Brown Jug at stake Beaver Falls left little doubt that they are the team to beat in Class AA. Besides an opening drive turnover that New Brighton turned into the games first score Beaver Falls rattled off 44 points before a stunned New Brighton crowd at Geneva College. Behind an impressive running game, matched with a suffocating defense the Tigers had their way with the visiting Lions. Beaver Falls has won early in the season behind bruising running backs Josh Hough & Shileak Livingston, but it was their defense that rose to the occasion early and often with two interception returns, one by linebacker Tyler Jones, and the other by defensive back Quadir Jones. The Tigers defense shut down New Brighton’s offense all night not allowing any other scoring threats until the late minutes of the 4th quarter. Beaver Falls looks to continue their roll through AA next week as they go on the road to take on a Mohawk team that is currently 1-3.
