When you hear Central Valley vs Aliquippa, you automatically think family vs family, cousin vs cousin. So when the schedules come out every year this is always the game everyone stops what they are doing and all talk centers around the Friday night match ups between these two power house programs.
Central Valley jumped to an early lead against the Quips despite losing their quarterback on the second offensive play of the night. Matt Merritt suffered an ankle injury and did not return. Despite losing their two way leader, up stepped up Senior Captain Landon Alexander, and step did he finishing the night with over 210 yards along with two touchdowns.
Despite opening up a quick 14-0 lead the quips offensive came alive in the third quarter thanks to the arm of quarterback Quentin Goode, who connected on TD throws of 81 yards, and 47 yards in the 3rd quarter. But thanks to two costly Quips turnovers Central Valley was able to seal the victory once again as another long run by Alexander set up a Brett Fitzsimmons score to secure the victory. This was the fourth straight victory for Central Valley over their Aliquippa rival. Next week the Warriors travel to Blackhawk, while Aliquippa will travel to Ambridge.
