On Friday night, the Canon-McMillan Big Macs beat the South Fayette Lions by a final score of 14-7. This game was a very defensive game, as there was only one turnover and a lot of punts.

Macs Quarterback Mike Evans began scoring by scrambling down the left sideline for a touchdown late in the first quarter.

There would be over 10 minutes of football played before the next time someone would score. That score came from Lions Quarterback Nico Lamonde, who evened up the score at 7 by scrambling for a touchdown of his own.

The score stayed tied 7-7 all the way until 2:52 left in the game. Big Macs Wide Receiver Zyan Howard found himself open across the middle of the field and used his legs to outrun the Lions defense to give his team the lead late.

The South Fayette Lions would have a chance to tie, but they ultimately fell short as Canon-McMillan gained the victory. Here’s what Big Macs Wide Receiver Zyan Howard had to say after the game.

Canon-McMillan improves to 4-1, as they travel to Central Catholic next week. South Fayette drops their third straight game, which puts them at 2-3. They will travel to Moon next week as they try to get back in the win column.
