For the second day in a row we are writing about a Washington High player making his college choice. That’s one of the reasons PAFootballNews.com has them ranked third in the state. Chase Mitchell is another reason. The 6-4, 300+ pound lineman is a force on the line that paves the way for guys like running back Dylan Asbury, who committed to West Liberty this week.

Chase announced yesterday on twitter he is committing to the Liberty Flames program:

We asked him about his decision:

PFN: How long have you played football?

Chase: I’ve been playing football since my freshman year

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Flames?

Chase: The flames coaching staff is what really attracted me to the school

PFN: Why commit early?

Chase: I committed early because I know liberty is a place i can call home and feel comfortable calling it my home

PFN: Who was your biggest influence at Liberty, who recruited you?

Chase: Coach Caso he stayed with me through the whole process of getting eligible an on track and gave me my first official offer

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

Chase: They will get a player with high intensity and a great personality who is ready to compete

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?

Chase: I have a lot of coaches in my DM but they wouldn’t offer me because i truly feel like i was the last option because of my grades

PFN: What position were you recruited for?

Chase: I will be playing anywhere on the line they need me except center. LOL!

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

Chase: My mom is a big part I’m a mommas boy not going lie my mother is my world this is all for her an my deceased brother ( Craig Mitchell)

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the Liberty program?

Chase: There hunger to be the best there an up and coming team with a kinda new staff and i love what they have planned for the place

PFN: Tell everyone out there in Liberty Flame Land something they’d never know about you until you told them:

Chase: Something they’d never know is i like cooking

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

Chase: My brother passing and me getting pushed by my teammates (Gerald Comedy/Zakhi Marshall ) we basically always try to see who’s getting the most pancakes seeing who get the most takes an seeing who can help our team win because to me competition is key

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school team mates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?

Chase: I would like to say i love you all and you guys are apart of why i go so hard so thank you for being there for me
