Greensburg-Salem was not giving up, though, as Bradyon Miller scored an 89-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was thrown by junior QB Brody Chismar and was caught by Akheim McCreary. This started to close Derry’s lead, putting them ahead 29-14.
The score would remain 29-14 until seven minutes left in the third quarter, when Lion Derry would find the endzone for the second time that night. The extra point was made by senior Alex Swatchick, and Derry’s lead was now only 29-21.
With the pressure now on Derry, their defense, led by senior Justin Papuga, who had four sacks on the night, stepped up, forcing a turnover and allowing Doherty to secure his third touchdown of the night. Doperak made the extra point, and the Trojans were now winning 36-21.
