Mt. Lebo linebacker Beckham Dee shuts down recruiting with his commitment to the Air Force Falcons.

Mt. Lebo linebacker Beckham Dee saw his recruitment explode this spring. After landing a few offers in the winter, Beckham starting piling them on in April. Toledo, Upenn and Columbia hit first, the following an offer from Duquesne in late March schools like Princeton, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Stony Brook, Fordham, Army, Richmond, Bryant, William & Mary, RMU and Georgetown padded his list. But it was an offer from the Air Force program that grabbed his attention. Two days ago, he announced his commitment to the Falcons.

We caught up with the talented 6’1, 220 pound Dee to find out more about his decision:

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Air Force before your senior season?

I had a great relationship with the coaching staff and felt like this was the best place for me as a football player and for life after football. I also felt very wanted by the coaching staff.

PFN: Who was your biggest influence there. , who recruited you?

Coach Toth and Coach Lamendola recruited me. Both coaches were very genuine and took the time to build a strong relationship with my family and me.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

They are getting a tough competitor that will do anything to win.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?

The recruiting process was very fun at times and very stressful other times. Overall I enjoyed it, but I’m glad to be finished.

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?

I will likely study business management.

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

My parents helped me make a fully informed decision, but overall gave me full say in the decision.

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the program?

I am most excited to win championships with my teammates.

PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?

I am very excited to play really good competition.

PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:

I’ve been playing football since 1st grade.

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

My LB coach in the beginning of my high school career, Coach Barry.

Why do you play football?

I play football because I have a lot of fun with my teammates competing to win championships.

What would you do to improve the recruiting process?

I would make film a stronger focus rather than just measurements.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?

I can’t wait to win more championships in college.
