Friendship Collegiate Academy started the game with the ball and they went three and out to start. North Allegheny had a good first drive but eventually the drive stalled in FCA territory.
North Allegheny downed a punt down at the 1 yard line. FCA barely got out of the end zone on first and second down. On third down FCA got called for intentional grounding which resulted in a safety. “They were awesome, it was non stop pressure, never letting that quarterback set his feet, relentless to the ball in the run game” Coach Walker said about the defense after the game.
North Allegheny started the next drive at their own 31 yard line. They put together a nice long drive. They entered FCA territory on a 15 yard penalty, and after a run by Precise Colon they were inside the red zone. The drive was capped off on a 4 yard quarterback keeper by Ben Petschke, which made the score 9-0 with 1:29 left in the first quarter.
FCA had a nice drive going and it got into North Allegheny territory, but after a couple of penalties the drive stalled and they had to punt the ball away. FCA did have their moments in the game but they just couldn’t find the end zone.
Later in the second quarter North Allegheny extended their lead when Ben Petschke connected with Nathan Hoke for an 8 yard touchdown. That made the score 16-0 with 3:36 remaining in the first half. Petschke had a good night he was 8 of 13 for 104 yards. and he had a role in both touchdowns that North Allegheny scored. “He did a great job managing the game, I thought he stepped up and made some big throws when we needed him” Coach Walker said after the game.
The second half was more of the same. No scoring occurred in the third quarter. FCA struggled to get into North Allegheny territory in the second half. North Allegheny had a drive in FCA territory but that drive resulted in zero points.
In the fourth quarter. North Allegheny had one drive start at the FCA 23 yard line. They didn’t get a touchdown out of the drive, but they did get a field goal on a 21 yard kick by Brandon Persad. “We gotta finish some drives better, should’ve had more points” said Coach Walker.
The final points of the game came on a second safety in the game when a bad snap went out of the end zone which made the final score 21-0. “We got enough points because our defense played so well” said Coach Walker.
Another guy on offense who also had a big game was running back Precise Colon who had 17 carries for 68 yards. Next week North Allegheny opens WPIAL play when they host Norwin at 7:30.
