Peters Township defeats Mount Lebanon 42-0 and stays undefeated

On Friday night, the Peters Township Indians routed the Mount Lebanon Blue Devils on the road.
Peters Township set the tone early with an opening drive touchdown from Vinny Sarcone six minutes into the game.

After a stop from Peters Township forced a Mount Lebanon punt, they put together a 98-yard drive. The touchdown came from a 70-yard catch and run from Nolan DiLucia to Nick McCullough with 2:44 remaining in the first quarter.

The very next drive Eliot Schratz would come up with an interception for Peters Township. However, this drive Peters came up empty with a missed 38-yard field goal attempt.

Peters Township started to put Mount Lebanon away early with Nick McCullough’s second receiving touchdown of the night to put Peters Township up three scores.

After an empty drive from Mount Lebanon again, Peters Township extended their lead with Sarcone’s second rushing touchdown of the game, which would make the score 27-0.

On the very next offensive play, Mount Lebanon threw an interception returned touchdown to Peter Township’s Reston Leahman. This made the score 35-0 after a successful two point conversion with 1:03 left in the first half.

With Peters Township having a thirty-five point lead going into the second half, this meant there would be a running clock through the entirety of the second half.
The last score came with 3:20 left in the fourth quarter for Peters Township to extend the lead to 42-0, which was the final.

Peters Township improves to 8-0 on the season while the Mount Lebanon falls to 4-4 with only two more weeks until WPIAL playoffs. Peters Township is one of seven teams in WPIAL football still undefeated alongside Fort Cherry, Aliquippa, Washington High, Elizabeth Forward, Avonworth, and South Side.
