Peters Township opened up this rare Thursday night contest in trouble. Upper St. Clair moved the ball effortlessly downfield for the first points of the game. A 6-yard QB keeper to the right side. After a perfect punt by Peters Twp left the Panthers in the shadow of their own goalpost, they secured the safety when the run to the far left sideline couldn’t get the ball out across the white stripe. With the ball theirs after the free kick, Peters Township moved downfield and took the lead on an short touchdown run. After a missed field goal, Peters Township was successful with a 24-yard try. And though giving up the lead momentarily thanks to a Panthers 4 yard run, reclaimed the lead for good with a field goal as time expired in the first half.

With halftime came heavy rain that dissipated as the third quarter wore on. Peters Township extended their scant 1 point lead with touchdown runs of 5 and 16 yards. The latter having the low kick blocked at the line to make it 28-14 with 10:48 left. Upper St. Clair would have the ball and finally broke the Peters Twp defense, throwing a perfect pass with a bobbled reception in stride for a 41 yard TD and resetting the game to a one-score lead for the host Indians.

With the Indians holding the ball late in the game, they had several first down rushes to the left side. Securing the victory on a cool, soggy night in Peters Township.
