After losing to Peters Township last year Pine Richland was able to get revenge tonight in their 20-9 win over Peters Township. “I’m just excited for my team, these guys busted their tails off all offseason, to get back to the championship game, and then to compete at a high level in the championship game, I’m just so happy for my guys. said Coach LeDonne.
The first was an offensive struggle for both teams and the game was scoreless at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter Pine Richland struck first on a 24 yard field goal by Grant Argiro. That made the score 3-0 Pine Richland with 7:36 in the second quarter. The drive lasted 13 plays and lasted 7:22. “For the last few years we’ve been putting in opportunities like hey sooner or later you’re going to need to make a big kick and come out here, in these conditions, not use to kicking on grass kicking a 47 yarder that’s what he’s made for” said Coach Ledonne.

Later in the quarter Pine Richland extended their lead on an impressive 47 yard field goal by Grant Argiro. “It was definitely something I was pretty confident going into, I knew that if it wasn’t on the extra point spot I’d be completely confident, it wasn’t bad anywhere other than that spot, but I didn’t even hit the best that I could but it still went through and it went straight and that’s all that matters” said Argiro.

In the fourth quarter Peters Township had a long drive going but the ball was intercepted in the end zone by Tanner Cunningham which basically sealed the win. “We just talk about getting physical, getting after the quarterback, I though our defensive line did a really good job against the run, I don’t know what the stats were, I don’t think they had a lot of rushing yards, but it allowed us to drop 4 guys in coverage, and hats of to their quarterback he’s a hell of a player he made some plays running the ball” said Coach LeDonne.
