In a matchup of two evenly matched teams, it took overtime to find a winner. The teams traded interceptions on back to back plays. The teams traded punt returns for touchdowns, though Union’s was called back. It was even after 24 minutes, and even after 48 minutes. Two touchdowns apiece. Late in the game, after Union tied it on a 3 yard TD run, Cornell moved into position deep in Scottie territory. But an interception at the goal line and ensuing touchback gave the Scotties one last try. They too drove the field, getting as far as the 16 before, with just 11 seconds remaining, the QB was tackled scrambling for the first down.

With no time remaining, it was on to overtime. Union took possession first, and after a five yard run on first, converted their second down for a touchdown. A 5 yard run. And followed it up with a diving two point play up the gut. A 20-12 lead as the Raider offense took the field.

They moved the ball even better, a 10 yard run to the right side, skirting in for a touchdown and one play from tying the game again. But, on this point after, the Cornell QB eluded a near sack behind the line, scrambled back and to the far right, running back up the sideline before being tackled short of the goal line.

Union Scotties win a thriller as the team rushed the field in jubilation.
