Seven District VII Players Named to 2022 PA Writers Class 2A All-State Team

The Westinghouse High School football team brought attention to the Pittsburgh City League this year as they became the first City team in 25 years to make to a state championship game.


The Pennsylvania Football Writers All-State Team for Class 2A was released Thursday and four Westinghouse players were selected.


The Westinghouse players selected this year are quarterback Keyshawn Morsillo, running back Khalil Taylor, receiver Sincere Smith and defensive lineman Donte Taylor.
Morsillo, had 3,311 yards offense this season in helping Westinghouse to the PIAA title game before losing to Southern Columbia. Morsillo threw for 2,544 yards and 43 touchdowns and also added 916 rushing yards and 16 TDs.


Taylor rushed for more than 1,000 yards while Smith was a big-play receiver, averaging 30 yards a catch. Taylor was one of the standouts on a defense that allowed only 10.1 points a game.
WPIAL champion Steel Valley had two players selected to the Class 2A all-state team – quarterback Cruce Brookins and offensive lineman Greg Smith. Brookins signed with Pitt to play defensive back and Smith with Miami, Ohio.
The other WPIAL player selected was Ligonier Valley offensive lineman Colin Smith.
