Thomas Jefferson relied on the Quarterback duo of Brody Evans and Luke Kosko to dominate Franklin Regional 42-7. “Overall they both played well, they both managed what we want to do well, they’re both very similar” said Coach Cherpak.

Brody Evans started on the first drive and moved right down the field with ease. The drive started on their own 20 and on the first play Evans connected with Sean Sullivan for a 60 yard pass down to the Franklin Regional 20. A couple plays later Elias Lippincott scored on a 1 yard run making it 7-0 Thomas Jefferson with 10:42 in the first quarter. Evans was 6 of 10 for 157 yards in the win.

Franklin Regional went three and out on their first drive and punted it away. On their second drive they got into Thomas Jefferson territory but then fumbled the ball. Thomas Jefferson went on to take advantage of the turnover. This time it was Luke Kosko in at QB. After a completed pass to Sean Sullivan, Michael Banda scored on a 24 yard run making it 14-0 Thomas Jefferson with 4:10 in the first quarter.

Franklin Regional needed to get something going on the next drive and they did just that. On the second play Chase Lemke completed a pass to Ayden Hudock to get into Thomas Jefferson territory. Later he would catch another pass for a 32 yard touchdown. That made the score 14-7 Thomas Jefferson with 1:04 in the first quarter.

Early on in the second quarter both teams struggled and both had turnovers. Thomas Jefferson started the next drive on their own 20 yard line they went three and out and featured two negative plays.

Franklin Regional had a golden opportunity starting their next drive on the Thomas Jefferson 25 yard line. On the first play they fumbled that opportunity away giving Thomas Jefferson the ball back.

The next Thomas Jefferson drive went backwards as well and on fourth down a bad snap gave Franklin Regional the ball back again in Thomas Jefferson territory. “I think our guys were like oh man this is easy, they just let their guard down” said Coach Cherpak.

Franklin Regional had the ball at the Thomas Jefferson 34 yard line but again on the first play the ball was intercepted. It was on that drive where Thomas Jefferson took control of the game. A crucial moment was on a gutsy fourth down conversion in their own territory. “Our Quarterback has that option, we saw that they weren’t covering something and he felt comfortable throwing it, and I have enough confidence in them that they’ll make the right decision” said Coach Cherpak.

Later that drive Sean Sullivan made a tremendous catch down to the Franklin Regional 10 yard line. Sullivan had a dominant night, he had 145 yards on 6 catches. “He has the skills to be an elite receiver in the WPIAL, he has the the best hands, he’s capable of making big plays all the time” said Coach Cherpak. A couple plays later Michael Banda scored on a 3 yard run to make it 21-7 Thomas Jefferson.

Before the half ended Thomas Jefferson scored one more time and featured 2 big completions by Luke Kosko. The drive was finished off on a 3 yard run by Elias Lippincott. Kosko had a good night and fell just short of 100 yards passing. The score at halftime was 28-7 Thomas Jefferson.

The lead would only get bigger for Thomas Jefferson in the second half. After another Franklin Regional turnover, Luke Kosko completed a pass to Kameron Eggerton for a 35 yard touchdown pass. The score at the end of the third quarter was 35-7 Thomas Jefferson.

Thomas Jefferson added one last touchdown which occurred on a turnover and that made the final 42-7 Thomas Jefferson.
