TJ Linebacker Preston Zandier commits to Youngstown St. @prestonzandier @TJHSJaguars

It only took one offer for TJ linebacker Preston Zandier to make his college choice. That offer came from Youngstown State. “I just felt it was the right time for me and I did not want to have to stress over my decision during my senior season” said the talented linebacker. He made that choice official via twitter tonight:

We caught up with Preston to ask him about his choice:
PFN: How long have you played football?
Preston: Since I was 8 years old
PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Youngstown State?
Preston: I really loved all the coaches and the culture of the program
PFN: Who was your biggest influence at YSU, who recruited you?
Preston: My biggest influence was the new coaching staff and their new culture
PFN: What are they getting in player like you?
Preston: They are getting a player that knows how to win. Also, a player who wants to get better everyday
PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?
Preston: I enjoyed the process because I know I am blessed to not have to pay for college
PFN: How did the Covid 19 pandemic affect your decision?
Preston: The pandemic really did not influence my decision but it did give me more time to think about it.
PFN: What position were you recruited for?
Preston: I was recruited to play linebacker
PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?
Preston: I plan on studying business
PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?
Preston: They told me straight up it was my decision and they will support me no matter what
PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the YSU program?
Preston: Just the history of the program and the new coaching staff coming in creating the hype.
PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for the Penguins?
Preston: I’m most excited to be apart of a division one program with the history it has and fan base.
PFN: Tell everyone out there in The Penguin land something they’d never know about you until you told them:
Preston: They’d be surprised to know my family owns a carnival and I have my own landscaping business
PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
Preston: My older brother because he also plays division one football and I have been watching him play my whole life.
