In his first career start, true freshman Mason Heintschel led the Pittsburgh Panthers to a dominant 48–7 victory over Boston College. Heintschel completed 30 of 41 passes for 323 yards and four touchdowns, helping Pitt build a commanding 31–0 halftime lead. The Panthers racked up 503 yards of total offense and avoided turnovers, while Boston College managed just 69 yards in the first half and struggled in both the passing and rushing games. Boston College’s only score came late in the game on an 80-yard drive, after they had already been thoroughly outmatched. The win snapped Pitt’s losing streak against Power Four opponents and answered lingering questions at quarterback.
