Woodland Hills’ Scoop Smith Commits to Miami Ohio

On Sunday night Scoop Smith announced his commit to Miami Ohio to continue his football career. Smith, 5’5 148 lbs. wide receiver and corner back, is a three-sport athlete who was selected as the Post-Gazette Boys Athlete of the Year this past June and was recently named All-State for his second constitutive season.
Smith, who will graduate from Woodland Hill’s in 2026, scored 15 touchdowns last season for the Wolverines. Additionally, Smith caught 38 passes for 630 yards and rushed 352 yards across 27 carries during the 2024 season. On top of his football Smith showed skills on the basketball court and the track with an average of 17.7 points per game and made All-Section for the second consecutive year in basketball this winter. In track Smith claimed the WPIAL Class 3A 100-meter championship for the second consecutive year with a time of 10.72 seconds.
Smith, who made his commitment announcement during a youth camp he help to host at Woodland Hills’ stadium, had over 15 football offers including, Nebraska, Toledo, Robert Morris, Massachusetts, Buffalo, SAC State, Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Hampton, Delaware State, Youngstown, Townson and Layfette.
