Wpial Schedules are out…some interesting matchups early

With the new method of the WPIAL choosing the out of conference games by eye instead of using a computer, some interesting games have emerged. Also a byproduct, most of the non conference games are in the beginning of the season, making those conference games a little more important on the back end of the season. Week 1 (not week zero which is the weekend of Aug 25th, for now) has some crazy good matchups. Jeannette at Sto-Rox, OLSH hosting Riverside, South Side at Neshannock, Woodland Hills/McKeesport and PCC/Seneca Valley for starters.

New to the WPIAL is Ligonier Valley. They’ll open their first season back with an always tough Elizabeth Forward team at home. Aliquippa and Central Valley square off in week two in a rematch of the 3A title game while PCC and Pine-Richland plus Clairton and Washington make for an exciting week 2.
