The undermanned Yough Cougar defense put up a good effort to start the game. Keeping Southmoreland in check for fourteen minutes. But then the second quarter belonged to the Scotties. Two touchdown passes, one from 56 to open the scoring, and a 27 yarder halfway through the second gave them a 14-0 lead. A late field goal extended it to a three score lead going into the break.

Yough’s offense couldn’t muster much movement against the Southmoreland defensive unit. A lack of a consistent offense made their defensive efforts in the second half fruitless. Southmoreland’s offense finally cracked the defense one last time, late in the fourth with a 50 yard TD run.
