What are your expectations for your team this year?
Our goal at the beginning of each season is to build on the success of the previous season. Last year was historic for us as we won our first PIAA playoff game in school history. When we talk about taking one more step this season, you’re talking about being in the final four teams remaining in the state at the very least. That’s obviously a challenging goal to undertake. What excites us the most, however, is returning eight starters on each side of the ball that were major contributors to last year’s success. The athleticism is in place. Can our seniors develop the leadership required to create a repeat of last year is the question to be answered.
When your team is on offense, what are the keys to success?
Our offensive philosophy is always the same: put the football where the defense isn’t. With our outside threats and a four year starter at running back, we feel confident that we are built to carry out that philosophy.
When your team is on defense, what are the keys to success?
Play fast, aggressive, physical, and mean. Stop the run, rush the quarterback, and win the turnover battle. No more than 17 points given up per game.
