2022 D6/D9 4A Regional Playoff Game Preview: Juniata @ DuBois

The D6/D9 4A regional game will take place Thursday 11/10 at 7pm @ DuBois.  The game will feature D6 Juniata and D9 DuBois.  Juniata is the only D6 4A team to enter the playoffs, the other 2 D6 4A teams opted out of the playoffs.  DuBois is the only D9 4A team, the other D9 4A team opted out.  The winner of this game will play next weekend against the winner of the Meadville / University Prep game.  These two teams are looking to end their seasons with a Trip to the Chap with the State 4A championship on December 8th.

Juniata (7-3) @ DuBois (5-5)

Juniata was off last week and last played on 10/28 with a victory over Susquenita 19-3.  Juniata is led on offense by Senior QB Aaron Kanagy, Senior RB Waylon Ehrenzeller, and Freshman WR Jasper Shepps.  Kanagy is 61-142 for 929 yards with 5 TDs and 12 INTs passing.  Kanagy rushed 62 times for 259 yards and 8 TDs.  Ehrenzeller has 67 carries for 568 yards and 9 TDs rushing.  Shepps has 14 receptions for 331 yards receiving.  Juniata has only allowed just under 8 points per game average on the season.  They have outscored their opponents 232-88.  Juniata’s defense has 22 sacks on the season; Senior Jonathan Kauffman has 4 sacks on the season.  Juniata has 13 INTs on the season; Shepps and Senior Casey Smith have 5 INTs each.

DuBois had a bye last week and haven’t played since 10/28 when they lost to Hollidaysburg 36-35.  DuBois is led on offense by Freshman QB Trey Wingard, Senior RB Dalton Yale, Senior RB Austin Henery, and Senior WR Cam-Ron Hays.  Wingard is 36-61 for 555 yards with 6 TDs and 1 INT passing on the season.  Yale has rushed 100 times for 487 yards.  Henery has 82 carries for 379 yards and 6 TDs rushing.  Hays has 18 receptions for 332 yards and 2 TDs receiving.  DuBois has 23 sacks on defense.  Junior Landon Schrock has 5 sacks on the season.

Juniata and DuBois had only one common opponent this season.  DuBois lost to Clearfield 41-7, and Juniata beat Clearfield 20-7.
