Coach says “Braylon became the first player in our program’s history to surpass 3,000 yards passing in a single season last year despite missing two games due to injury. With every program passing record either in hand or within reach, Braylon’s next challenge is to step into the leadership role demanded of the position as a rising junior. I’m looking forward to watching him grow into the leadership role we’ll need to assume to find success in 2024 and 2025”.
LET’S GET TO KNOW BRAYLON
Why do you play football?
I play football because of the feeling you get on Friday nights. The adrenaline you get playing football is unmatched to any other sport out there.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Tom Brady, because he used to be an underdog that moved up the ranks and became the best QB to ever play the game of football.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My favorite play was in the PIAA Semifinals against Fort Cherry and it was the first drive of the game. The play was trips to the right and the inside guy had a seam and I had to fit it in between a few people and it ended up going for a touchdown. The feeling after that play was incredible .
What was last years season like for you?
My season was great! I had an amazing start to the season and broke a few records for our school. I had a set back in the last week of the season which put me out 2 games in the postseason. I came back after those two weeks and we ended making it to the PIAA Semifinals game.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My main goal is winning the district championship. My second goal is to top the season I had last year and make life long bonds with my teammates.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
I would have to say Matt Sieg. It was a great quarterback battle between us both and I would love to play against him and his team again.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
I would have to say my game against Central Clarion my freshman year. There were a lot of touchdowns for both teams and multiple big hits which brought a lot of energy and emotion out of everyone in attendance.
What would you do to improve the recruiting process?
Go to multiple camps to get exposure and as soon as you get back from the camps make sure to text the coaches that were there.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
Someone who has your back through everything. Doesn’t matter if you have a good game or a bad game they will still do everything in their power to keep your head up and keep playing till the clock hits zero.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
It brings everybody in the community together and gives everyone something to do on Friday nights.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Win a state championship, it is the one place I haven’t made it to in high school sports.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
I would have to say my dad. He has taught me how to be a great football player and an even better young man.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
I’m a quarterback so I love anything when it comes to throwing the football around. My least favorite drill is run game into conditioning.
Preseason Two a Days are:
Very hard to think about and difficult to do because of how tired you get. They are definitely needed though because that is when you bond with your teammates and learn the game.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My little sister Melaina is definitely my biggest supporter. She is only 6 years old but you can hear her yelling for me over anyone else at my games.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Golf 100%, it gets my mind off of everything and I get to relax instead of being tense.
What is your favorite play to run?
I love throwing the deep ball so I like throwing fades, posts, and corners. I also like running option plays.
is a hot dog a sandwich? If not, then why?
Yes, it has bread so it is a sandwich.
Music of choice:
It really depends on the mood but I like country and rap.
Best thing you ever got from a teammate? Why?
A life long relationship.
Best Pizza topping?
Just pepperoni and cheese. If you put anything else it ruins the pizza.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Anywhere where I could go fishing whenever I wanted and relax with my family.
Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
It was a Redbank Valley High School football game because I had to go watch my cousin. He played quarterback back in 2011.
