WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Ben had an excellent season for us last year, especially for a player that started with us late in the summer.  He was a “jack of all trades” player for us as he played multiple positions on O, D and STs. He’s going to have an excellent season because he had an excellent off-season.

GETTING TO KNOW BEN:

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Saint Marys High School ?
The teachers are very understanding and supportive which makes it super easy to succeed in and out of school, as well as on the field.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
6 years

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
Dubois Mansell Stadium. Super nice stadium and the game was a barn burner so that’s always fun.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Defense, I think it’s easier to build momentum because the reigns are a little looser.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
Trying everything, I think the first 3 years of high school were my most productive because, I have been able to participate in the majority of athletics that are offered.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
Getting moved into the 2 back set so I could get my hands on the ball more.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
The leadership.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
Make a good impression for the younger kids and give them someone to look up to.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Kirk Cousins, he has a strong moral background and carries himself through God.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
68 yard TD run vs Dubois. I took off !

Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Lucas Bauer-(St Marys) and Jack Pete-(Brookville), Both crazy, athletic and talented.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
Steelers, because I’ve just been a fan for so long.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
2018 Penn State whiteout game VS Ohio State, the game speaks for itself.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler is very entertaining.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Watch Sean Chen score a touchdown.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Hockey

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
Breaking my arm during a baseball game and apologizing for crying.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Playing cards, Monopoly or Hacky Sack with my friends.

Sheetz, can’t go wrong with Cinnamon French Toast sticks and an App Sampler.

Hawaii

Snakes

Taco Bell, because it has lots of cheese.

Yes, anything Pittsburgh.

NFL, I love fantasy season and going head to head with my friends.

Minecraft

Ham, Sausage, Bacon

Anywhere but the city, I am not a big fan of people and traffic.
