Let’s get to know Andrew

Why do you play football?

I love the sense of family that football provides. No other sport creates the same connections and bonds formed with your teammates.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

I’m looking forward to going out and competing. It gives me a chance to go and show to product of all of my hard work.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Devin Booker. I love the loyalty that he has shown the Suns despite the rough years they’ve had.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

Getting the game sealing interception against Dubois last year. We came into the game as the major underdog, so getting the pick and knowing I had just won the game was a great feeling.

What was last years season like for you?

Last years season was full of ups and downs. It opened my eyes to what I am capable of, but it also highlighted my areas of weakness and where I need to improve.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I would love to continue to improve as a player and a leader, while helping my teammates reach their goals as well.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Jase Ferguson. His ability to take over the game on both sides of the ball is unlike anyone else I’ve ever played against.

When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?

Dan Campbell. I think that his risky play calling and ability to catch the defense off guard would be perfect to win a close one.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I’m not a Chiefs fan, but Arrowhead Stadium. The atmosphere there is unmatched.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

The Phoenix Suns

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

The 2021 AFC Divisional Round between the Bills and the Chiefs. It was the most exciting football game I’ve ever watched even as a fan of neither team.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

The Blind Side. I think the story behind it is really great.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

I have no idea. When I’m playing I can’t hear anything but else.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Play safety. It looks like so much fun, but my coaches would never let it happen.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

I don’t really have a mentor or anyone I would like to be like. I want to work hard towards my own goals and to be my own person. I don’t want to be an emulation of someone else.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Lacrosse, no one in the area plays so it would be very hard to.

If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?

1998 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

I like to drive. It’s really relaxing to just drive around with my music on after a long practice or training session.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

Going to a WVU game with the whole team and spending the day together with them.

What is your favorite play to run?

Outside Power. It gives me space to work while still giving my linemen to block effectively.

What scares you the most?

Non-contact knee injuries

Music of choice:

Indie Rock

What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?

I once had 8 olive garden breadsticks with a chicken gnocchi soup and the largest pasta dish on the menu.

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

McDonalds, their 20 piece nuggets are dangerous.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Anywhere in the city. I love being around all those people.
