My New York, Pennsylvania weekend ended with a game of unbeaten teams squaring off and when all was said and down the home team Coudersport Falcons would walk away with a 56-0 win over Redbank Valley. This was a case of the Falcons dominating the Bulldogs in every aspect of the game. The front line on both sides of the ball for the Falcons made child play against their opposites and from there the onslaught
never stopped, until the clock mercifully read 0:00.
Brandt Kightlinger would move the chains with a nice catch to give the Falcons a first down on the Bulldogs 36 yard line, with 8:48 left in the opening quarter. From there Travis Gleason made like Keith Byars by going 31 yards for the first score of the game. Hayden Keck would be stopped short on a two point conversion try leaving this a 6-0 game, with 7:16 remaining in the opening quarter. John Minor would make a leaping interception on a Gunner Mangiantini pass, he then followed that with a nice catch while falling backwards, in tight coverage to pick up 19 yards. The kid had a nice game and I.M.O. if there were any college scouts there he had to open their eyes in a large way. Gleason would score from 3 yards out, with a two point conversion pass from Kolby VanWhy to Hayden Keck making this a 14-0 game, with 50.6 seconds left on the clock.
Keck would get a very easy pick on a bad pass thrown by Mangiantini, with 8:33 left in the half. The pick led to a Gleason 21 yard touchdown run to make this a 20-0 game and completely shut the small crowd from Redbank Valley up as they appeared stunned, almost like a Trump voter has of late. Cale Ayers teamed up with Travis Gleason to sack Mangiantini, for a 9 yard loss, with a little over a minute remaining in the half. The Falcons defense had soared the entire half and this sack was sort of an exclamation point on their performance. The icing on the cake for the defense would be a pick six by Keck. Keck seems like a good quarterback, but to me he was a beast on the defensive side of the ball. He also ran in a two point conversion after the touchdown to send the teams to the locker room, with the home team leading 28-0.
The second half would fly by with the clock becoming a running run very early. The Falcons added two scores in the third. The first came on a 46 yard touchdown run by Jacob Pitcher, with the 2nd coming on a 31 yard tackle breaking run by Thomas Wilson. In the fourth Keck scored on a 33 yard run, with the last coming on another pick six this time from Kightlinger to make this a 56-0 game and that is the way this one-sided smashing would end.
