Yesterday the first game of my triple header to Akron Buchtel high school, to see Akron Ellet vs. Akron North in a game that I was 100% sure was going to be very one-sided. My biggest reason for going was to knock North off of my list and it also allow me to see all of the Akron Public City schools play. I first want to say thanks to fellow yappi poster and P.A. guy for giving me the rosters. I will let him post who he is, if he wants to.

North was forced to punt after their first drive with the kick by Nsenga Hakizimana going for negative three yards. Ellet took advantage of the negative yard punt by going six yards in 2 plays to score the games first touchdown. The scoring play was a one yard run from David Haverstick. The PAT was missed to leave this a 6-0 Ellet lead, with 8:20 left in the first. Ellet would then use a 15 yard run from Aden Vargo to set up their next score, which also came on a run by Vargo that total 32 yards. The PAT out of the hold by Ethan Jones, off of the foot of Phoenix Tomlin to make this a 13-0 game, with 2.38 left in the quarter. A 42 yard catch by Haverstick set up a five yard run by Blake Miletti, with twelve second left in the quarter. The PAT was true again to make this a 20-0 game.

The 2nd quarter belong to the Orangemen as did the first. Haverstick would block a punt that his teammate Richard Evens scooped up and took it twelve yards for another score. The PAT increase the Orangemen lead to 27-0, with 10:29 left in the half. Jake Fisher would find pay dirt from four yards out, with 4:37 showing on the clock to make it a 33-0 game. The PAT by Tomlin was good to make the score 34-0.
Ellet would use a forty two yard run from Vargo to make this a 40-0 game. The Ellet defense would get a nice play from Haverstick, when the talented player got to Josh Campbell for a five yard loss. Campbell was one of three quarterbacks for North, who also used three different punters.

With the running clock the 2nd half went by in a blur. Seth Wilcox scored from seven yards out, with the PAT making this a 47-0 game. The last significant play of the third quarter was a fumble recovery by Jake Fisher to give the ball back to the Orangemen, with 3:18 showing on the clock. After a seven yard run by Jordan Williams for another score Ellet had a 53-0 lead, with 10:49 left in the game. North would get a sweet thirty one yard catch from Solomon Varner for a score, but two penalties on North negated the score. Character, true character is shown during bad times and the players from North that was on the field after the score was called back could have sulked, moan and complained, but those young men would regroup, as a unit and show their true Character by get a fourteen yard touchdown run by DeMonte Powell. The PAT was good by Hakizimana was good to make the final score 53-7.
