Last Meeting:9/19/15 Blair 49 @ Kiski 7

The Blair Academy Bucs came to Pennsylvania and shutout the host Kiski Cougars in a Non-PIAA game. Kiski could not overcome turnovers and penalties. The Bucs eventually took advantage and cruised to a 25-0 win.

The scoreless first quarter saw both teams exchange punts twice. The Bucs slowly gaining field position due to five Cougar penalties for 40 yards. Kiski’s first drive of the second quarter ended when junior Royce Mulholland picked off a Nico Marchitelli pass. The Bucs drove 37 yards for the games first score. On fourth and six, quarterback Daniel Shuster rolled left and hit end Mike Higgins for a touchdown. Shuster added the PAT and it was 7-0 Blair.

Kiski muffed the kick return following the score and started their next drive at the 15. They were able to move the ball on the ground to midfield, but back to back holding calls made it fourth and 29. A bad snap on the punt forced Marchitelli to run for it. He tried to punt on the run and whiffed setting the Bucs up again. The Bucs would go 31 yards for their second score. This time on third down, Shuster hit Jude Buchanan down the right sideline for a touchdown. The PAT hit the uprights and it stayed 13-0.

The Cougars last drive of the half ended with a sack and a great punt by Marchitelli. The Bucs let the half run out after being pinned inside their 20.

The Bucs got great field position on the opening kickoff of the second half and completed a long pass to the Kiski one yard line. However a holding call would bring the big play back and the Bucs punted. Kiski’s first possession of the second half ended with a pick six. Moussa Kane plucked a tipped pass out of the air and raced 20 yards for a touchdown. The PAT was wide left. The Cougars got good starting field position on the following kickoff. Marchitelli rolled left on the next play, stopped turned and threw back to the right. The only two players there were Cougars. Jefferson Bretanys Desca caught the pass and fought and raced his way down the sideline for an apparent 63 yard touchdown. But a downfield holding call brought the ball back. Both teams would now exchange punts. Kiski’s next drive ended with an Archer Benedict interception, which he returned to the Cougar 22. Another Kiski penalty helped the Bucs get inside the ten and Shuster would run it in from there. The snap on the PAT muffed.

The rest of the game saw mainly the same thing. Cougar mistakes and the Bucs playing keep away. The final was 25-0.
