My drive to Lexington Catholic high school to watch a twin bill that I was 100% sure was going to result in two blowout games, was solely due to me wanting to see the best quarterback I watched play last season and that includes all 106 of my games. The quarterback is Beau Allen, who plays for Lexington Catholic. He is committed to the University of Kentucky, and after seeing him tonight I can say he looks even better than he did last season.
Allen would hit a sure handed Jackson Corbett for a 16 yard gain to convert a 3rd and one play. Then twenty two seconds later #35 Patrick Farrell, who is listed at 5-9 183 pounds would carry 5-11 235 pound Demarcus Turnley into the end zone from the five yard line to make this a 6-0 game. A two point conversion by Blake Busson increased the Lexington Catholic lead to 8-0. with 10:02 lieft in the quarter.
Allen would find Corbett for a 29 yard gain down to the Howe 10 yard line. From there Allen found Jarrett Mullins for the score after Max DeGraff hit the P.A.T the score was 15-0 with 8:03 left. The Lexington Catholic defense used a tackle for loss by Zach DeGraff on Treyvon Quarles to stop the next Howe drive, that came to an end a short time later with a punt.
Allen set up the next score, when he connected with Jackson Klein for a 25 yard gain. The score came when Allen hit Corbett from 14 yards out. Corbett out jumped two Howe defenders to make the catch, after the P.A.T. we had ourselves a 22-0 game, with 2:48 left in the first. With :51 seconds left in the quarter Darin Eldridge rumbled for a 14 yard gain to set up a 25 yard Allen to Corbett score, with the point after kick the score was 29-0, with :04 left on the clock.
Jackson Smith picked up a sack for Lexington Catholic just :12 seconds into the 2nd quarter. Just when it appeared Howe had something going a fumble by Demerius Garrett was recovered by Sean Gallagher. Forcing the fumble was Pearce Hall, who had a very solid defensive game.
Lexington Catholic would go up 36-0 after Allen found Ryan Nichols all by himself for a 19 yard score, with 2:45 left in the half. As soon as the lead got to 36-0 the running clock started making the rest of the game go by quickly.
Allen found Jack Monday for a for a gain of 18 yards to set up the next score, that came on a 19 yard catch by Walker Hall, with the P.A.T. the score was 43-0. Howe would get a safety in the fourth, when the ball sailed over the head of Josh Brownell to make this a 43-2 game. Howe would score a touchdown, when Tazz Garrett scrambled all over the field, then threw a strike to Jordan Murphy from 17 yards out. The final point of the game on the P.A.T. by Danny Cruz- Diaz to make the final 43-9.
